BUY YOUR FIRST HOME, OR YOUR NEXT

Your first home,
sorted and a broker in your corner.

PFC Mortgages has been helping Brisbane home buyers since 1991, with access to more than 30 lenders and a process built around clarity, not pressure. Steve Lowe is an MFAA accredited mortgage broker who’s guided hundreds of first-home buyers into the right loan, including those the banks weren’t sure about.

THE PFC DIFFERENCE

How we do it.

Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make. You deserve a broker who treats it that way.

No fees, ever.

The lender pays us. Not the other way round.

30+ lenders compared.

The right fit, not the easiest sell. ANZ, CommBank, Westpac, NAB, plus 26 more.

One broker, start to finish.

Steve from the first call to settlement. Same person every time.

Plain English.

No jargon, no fog. If something doesn't make sense, ask. We'll explain.

The Process

What happens next.

1
Step One

A conversation

Tell us where you're at, what you're hoping to buy, and what your situation looks like. No forms first.

2
Step Two

Borrowing power, sorted

We work out what you can actually borrow, what it'll cost weekly, and which lenders will say yes to you.

3
Step Three

Pre-approval in your back pocket

You go house-hunting with real numbers and a lender already on board. When you find the place, you're ready to move.

4
Step Four

Settlement and the keys

We handle the lender, the paperwork, and the finish line. You pick up the keys. We stay on call after.

FAQS

The things buyers ask.

No, a mortgage broker is not a requirement to purchase a home.

But teaming up with a professional has its benefits such as:

  • Professional assessment of your eligibility for available grants for first home buyers
  • Find first home loans faster
  • Access offers from non-banks and alternative lenders

To determine how much deposit you need for your home, you should first calculate how much you can afford to borrow.

For instance, if you are planning to purchase a $250,000 home, you need to put down the following deposit:

  • 5% deposit $12,500
  • 10% deposit $25,000
  • 15% deposit $37,500

The minimum credit score needed for first time home buyers is around 580.

But if you can pay at least a 10% deposit, some banks will accept a score between 500 and 579.

In Queensland, you are eligible to receive a first home buyer grant if you are:

  • At least 18 years old and above
  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • You must be purchasing or building a brand new home
  • You or your partner must have not previously owned a residential property in Australia
  • The property's value is less than $750,000
  • You should move into the property as your primary residence within one year of the completed transaction and reside there continuously for six months.
